I read multiple websites that an 8 year old should have a 30 inch larger barrel (sometimes called senior league which just means large barrel) bat based on weight and height. Lol That is not the case at all. The length of the bat is SO important. For a young 8 year old 28 inch bat is perfect (even if they are on the taller side). This is a very light weight bat and swings really well. Don’t make my mistake and get a 30 inch bat for an eight year old. I am guessing 30 inch bat would be for a 10 year old. But really the younger kids want the thicker barrel so they can hit the ball. I would think by age ten a child would probably want a more narrow bat to swing really fast and a larger barrel would slow them down. I would suggest this bat for age nine and younger. My son just turned 7 and 51.5" tall and this bat is pretty much perfect for him. If anything it could be an inch shorter but I wanted the 28" so hopefully he can use it for more than one season. It's not easy to find a drop 12 full composite at this price point (I paid $100) so I'm very happy with it. As far as the bat's performance, so far so good. Haven't had any complaints of stinging hands and it definitely doesn't have the ringing sound that annoyed me with the cheaper alloy bats. He's hitting the ball harder with it but I think most of that has to with the fact that I finally got him to step into the pitch, so overall there is more power and bat speed. This bat has a good pop and is well constructed. My son is 9 years old and had played travel ball for several years. Several players of all different skill, size and swing speeds have tried this bat this season. All with different results. You definitely have to have a higher swing speed to get this bat to perform to it’s potential. Players with slower bat speed won’t find this bat helpful compared to the more expensive 2-piece composite bats. Sure it’s better than most all of the aluminum bats at this price point. But if I had to do it again, I would have spent the extra investment for a 2-piece composite.Received a notification from another source that this bat was going to be released. Excited about the opportunity to purchase a "lighter" bat for my 9 year old. Of course, I immediately went right to THE SOURCE....Amazon. Bat was $10 cheaper than other sellers, and I had Amazon bucks too! We received the bat in advance of the estimated delivery date! My son used it at practice yesterday, and so far loves it! Performance seems comparable to his Louisville Slugger Solo (-11) and Louisville Slugger Omaha (-10). He was consistently hitting into the outfield. Seems like now we have a bat for all pitcher speeds :)Great USA Bat for your Smaller USA leauge players! A little overweight like ALL Bats but still the lightest USA Bat and Lightest MOI or swing weight. This bat has some Sting but my son has never complained about it. He's 6 playing 8U and has hit to the fence a few (4)times for in the park HR. Lots of Tripple's when the opposite team sees a smaller hitter and underestimates them.Don't listen to your VOLUNTEER "Coach" when he's says the bat is dead because it doesn't "ping" or it's too heavy for your childIt has solid pop in the USA Spectrum and it is THE LIGHTEST!I searched far and wide. This is the lightest USA Stamped bat in the marketplace, for both 2 1/4 or 2 5/8. Yes, lighter than the 2 1/4 USA bats out there! Very balanced bat. We have only hit off a SKLZ Hit-a-Way with it, but the bat speed was better than any other USA Bat.28in/16oz actually weighs 17.5oz....but this is very good in the USA Bat arena. Lighter than the Solo 618 or Easton S450 that I purchased at 28in. If you are looking for a light bat for the smaller player, this is it.I purchased the 30 inch model, for 12U Cal Ripken. It’s been used for half the season with no defects to the construction so far. I have noticed that it has descent pop when the batter is strong enough to get bat speed up, otherwise it can sound dead and the ball just dribbles of it. Also, this being a 1 piece bat, it WILL sting without hitting the sweet spot. The sweet spot is about 3 inches, anything on either side of the sweet spot will result in vibration. Would I buy this bat again? Probably not. Like others have said, it does weigh more then advertised and the 1 piece design can cause hesitation from batters not willing to deal with the sting. The market for a full composite bat @ around $150 is almost nonexistent, otherwise be ready to spend $300-$400 for 2 piece composites.Lo compré para mi hijo pero lo uso poco porque se suspendió el torneo por lo de Covid 19. En el tiempo que se uso se pudo probar y se siente un bat de buen material con las medidas que nos pide la liga, además de ser bonito. RecomendadoIts a nice bat but my son plays tball and he lacks the strengh to use this bat as i consider this bat for a 8-9 years old and my son is turnig 7 in october. 27"/15oz. Also one negative to add, the bat sounds like crap and really stings if the ball dosen't hit sweet spot.Very little "pop" and broke after six months. Avoid it.My kids loved it. So thats whats it all about. You put your left foot in....I bought for my son who is 10 years old, and he love it
