Listening to the local PBS jazz station, a song came on. Amazing voice. I searched through my mental Rolodex of torch singers and couldn't find a match to any of the usual suspects - not Sarah, not Ella, not Carmen. I waited to hear who it was but too many songs followed. As soon as I got home I went online and found the station's playlist. Lorez Alexandria? Who? What...how? How could I not know about her? After the requisite research on her story, I immediately went to Amazon and ordered a couple of CDs. Alexandria the Great is an amazing album! She is absolutely on par with any of the other "greats".
