2019 Axe Bat EliteOne Hyperspeed (-10) USSSA Baseball Bat - Lightweight & Durable for Youth & Adult Players, Perfect for Fast-Pitch Games & Training

I bought the same bat in a 30/20 for my 10 year old son last year after he tried someone else’s Axe bat. The handle is definitely comfortable but the barrel’s sweet spot is small compared to non axe handle competitors. The picture they show is misleading as that barrel looks very long compared to actual bat. You can look at it in 2 ways. 1. The shorter barrel is more like a wood bat barrel training kids to “put the barrel on the ball” like a wood bat. Or 2. You’re at a disadvantage to kids using long barreled bats as even if the don’t get the meat of the barrel on the ball, they’ll still get some of the barrel on the ball. The Axe bat will be hitting that same ball off the handle of the bat. He does like his bat but we keep a longer barreled bat in his bag.My son loves it. He had another one that was gifted to him for Xmas but it was not USA he loved using it but can’t use it when playing games. So we bought him this one that was USA approved. But he loves it he has better gripMy son likes the bat. He likes the avenge bat much more though and dosnt care for the loud ping when making contact.The bat has worked great for my grandson. His average has went up since he got it. Along with a few lessons he’s improvingThis is our 4th axe bat. We loved the 2017 Elite. And then they changed the rules of the bats and all bats had to have a USA stamp on it. So we ended up getting two more (I have two boys), the origin and the element. The origin was serviceable, we used it as a mainly batting practice. The element was good, we like it. I wanted to reward the boys for their hardwork, so we decided to get another Axe Bat (a tad more expensive) and got this Elite One Hyperspeed bat. They have been using it for about a month and it's terrible, we've gone back to the Element and are doing just fine. The Hyperspeed just has a such a small sweetspot, so when they make contact the ball dies and is easily playable. When they do make contact with the sweetspot, they are fouling it off. It doesn't meet the expectations for the price.We love Axe bats. They are light and have a sweet spot with great pop. Loved the price on this item too!The bat itself is fine. Just a little confusing for my 7yr old to remember that there is only one way to grip and swing the bat.This bat arrived quickly, was packed well and was exactly the bat we expected. Very happy with the overall process.
