My son is pretty small for his age, but had to switch to drop 5 or heavier this year for 14U baseball. This one got great reviews and many claimed it swings light since it the weight is shifter toward the hands by placing a carbon fiber end cap on the end of the bat. Well...it works. My son has no problems swinging this and it's got decent pop for a light swinging bat. We were worried hitting of the end might be an issue, but that has proven to not be the case. He feels like 30/25 version has a pretty large sweet spot. Would buy again.Purchased for late LL season, initially was very impressed with bat, my 12 year old got his first homeruns with this bat. The bat also gifted a couple of other players with their first homeruns as well. Today during backyard practice knocking off COVID rust, noticed the striking ping was mute, inspected bat and sure enough had a warp high in the bat. Disappointed to see in a relatively expensive bat, he uses only Rawlings most of which remain in good shape after multi year use. Will likely remain a Rawlings customer, after all first homerun is why I upgraded the bat for him, just thought it last more than few weeks of seasonal play, so off to the attic to gather dust and memories.Knob on handle is the smallest knob I’ve ever seen. I compared it to all the bats I’ve bought my kids over the years and it is the smallest. Why? I can easily see it flying out of my 10 year old hands.Sending it back.This bat has POP! If your son can handle the weight, he will drive the ball. My 12 year old can hit baseballs well over 200 feet with this USA bat. Very balanced. Not end loaded.This is an impressive bat! It has a great swing and hit and is about as lightweight as it gets. It's going to last a long time so it's a worthwhile investment into your child's game, especially if they have a younger sibling who might use it later on. Lets be straight though, this is THE ONE that will impress the friends and even the Coach and will help your kid hit like a Superstar because it's just THAT GOOD.I had several bats to try out and gathered up some of my friends' kids and went out to play ball and this is the one that consistently hit the home runs with boys and girls, even the ones who have never played baseball were hitting some serious balls with it. Thanks!*This Rawlings 2020 Velo ACP USA Youth Baseball Bat Series is a bat to end all other youth bats, hands-down. I live in a town where they hold the Little League World Series each year, so good bats are kind of a "thing" around these parts. I got this for my 10 year old son, as he has shown an interest in this sport, and I was excited to have an opportunity to get him one of the "best of the best" as far as bats go.And wow, what a bat! Just picking it up, you can feel that it's a nice weight and feel, with amazing multi-textured grips that just feel good in your hands. It's solid and hardy, and when you hit the ball just right, it gives the most PERFECT "crack/clunk" sound that you hear from the pros when watching a game.The aesthetics of it is gorgeous, and I spent some time when it came in just gazing at it and admiring how pretty it looks. The ultra-light carbon makes it light enough to swing easily, but don't be fooled - this guy is a solid one. This is supposed to be the first bat ever to have a design like this, with the "accelerated carbon performance" design - this is supposed to make it accelerate faster with making contact with the ball. It has a flatter barrel and thinner handle to perform this feat, with 2 inches of carbon composite at the end of the bat to give faster swing speeds. When you get it, take a few swings - and then get out a regular bat and do the same. There's just no comparison.The pictures of this bat on the description really don't do it justice, but suffice to say, it's just plain beautiful. Any youth ages 12 and under that's into baseball will be thrilled with this, and rightfully so. Between its amazing design and sleek aesthetics, this is just an incredible bat that's built for top-notch performance. This was even better than I was expecting, so it definitely gets two thumbs up from this household, and my son is super happy! Love it!So excited for this bat, as my oldest son can use it now, and my youngest can inherit it! My husband was playing with it outside and kept remarking on how incredible the bat is compared to when he was young. I didn’t realize there had been this many advancements in bat making, but according to him, it’s like night and day when was playing with this bat.It’s extremely lightweight, and it seems to swing very very fast. The barrel has a great shape, and the handle is wrapped with nice grip that really sticks to your hands.Perhaps this bat is very well balanced. Maybe there is some sort of illusion at play. But this bat does feel lighter than a drop ten.It looks fan-tas-tic! My son loved the pre-installed grip--it has a nice feel, and looks sharp. The barrel also has really nice, interesting texture. The end of the bat and end cap are super-smooth, they look almost like the plastic wrap has not been removed.The bat has a decent amount of pop. It swings fast and has minimal vibration.Definitely a nice USA bat to have
