Drama directed by and starring Paul Newman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey. Hank Stamper (Newman) is the eldest son of a fiercely independent Oregon logging family headed by Henry (Henry Fonda). Tensions arise when Hank's half-brother Leeland (Michael Sarrazin) returns to work in the troubled family business after a ten-year absence and begins an affair with Hank's wife, Viv (Lee Remick).
