I had high hopes for this glove as our Wilson A500 prior to this has stood the test of time (4 years). The leather quality on this A900 is fantastic, much better than Wilson A500. But to our disappointment the lace broke during our first indoor practice (see photo). We have filed a claim with Wilson and based on our previous experience, they will take care of the glove but I suspect I'll have to fork more dollar to ship the glove back to them and in the mean time use the good ol trusty A500. This seems to be major downfall of this glove design as I found out this is not an isolated case. In the mean time I'm going to give Rawlings R9 series a run to see if that's any better.Update 2/20/21:As expected, Wilson took care of the product under warranty. This is the reason we have purchased almost exclusively Wilson brand products for almost all of our baseball needs in last 5 years (Bats, gloves, bags, even glove oil) and when needed they did not disappoint. Hopefully the replacement will last at least 3 - 4 years until the kiddo is ready for A2000 or A2K. As I stated above, we purchased Rawlings R9 to try it out but the kiddo is used to Wilson and he prefers A900 over R9 so Wilson it is for now. I do have to say from the quality perspective Rawlings R9 feels a lot better (better quality lether and laces) but we are not going find out it's durability since the kiddo wants to stick with his A900 or A500 (if A900 is not working). To be honest, part of the reason he does not like Rawlings R9 is the better quality leather (requires longer break-in time) and he doesn't like the fact that he can't squeeze the glove right out of the box. So we plan to Keep the R9 as a back up glove for now and keep working on breaking it in slowly just in case the replacement A900 bites the dust again.Update 7/5/2021: (I'm updating it to 5 star from 1)For two reasons:1. Company replaced the broken glove.2. The glove has been working as expected. After using the A900 for almost a season, this glove has performed well. For a 10 year old who uses it, It is still not fully broken in and ball still pops out once in a while when only squeezing it with one hand. So if anyone is looking for a decent glove for a 10-12 years old, this is great glove but make sure you get it at the beginning of the season so you have plenty of time to break it in (breaking it in enough for a kid that is - for adults its not a problem). If looking for 6-9 year old I do not recommend this as it is too hard to squeeze and instead I recommend A500 which is much more easy to squeeze.10/28/2022:After two full seasons of play, the glove is still holding up well. I think we can get at least another couple of seasons out of it. Picture attached - I did condition the glove at the end of the season with glove conditioner.
