In terms of pop, light swing weight and durability, this is a really good bat -- like all the Rawlings Velo BBCOR models. The problem with this particular version is that the NCAA determined the bat has too much white on the barrel, which makes it harder for the pitcher to see the ball coming off the barrel. So the NCAA banned this model year of white Rawlings Velo BBCOR in collegiate baseball. Other model years with different colors are still approved for NCAA play.As far as I know, this white Velo is still approved for high school baseball. Not sure about non-NCAA college baseball or summer leagues.I bought this for my son, thinking he could use it as a gamer in college. Nope. So now it's a cage bat.
