Big improvement over his previous bat, which I also purchased on Amazon. This one doesn't have the shock in the handle when he hits the ball. Much more comfortable which allows him to swing and get a hold of the ball. I'm super impressed and he really likes it. I definitely recommend! If you are looking in the range of $100 for bats, this is probably the best selection you can find. It is an excellent bat that has great balance throughout the swing and is hot right out of the wrapper. It is incredibly durable and has lasted my son all season with no wear. It's almost like holding nothing--this bat is so light that it feels like an extension of oneself. I find the grip comfortable and not at all tacky, even when I sweat a bit, and contact feels comfortable, too. I am still waiting to see how resilient the plastic cap at the bat's end proves to be, but, right now, it's a favorite bat. This is a great bar for a beginner hitter! It’s very lightweight but still packs a punch! I purchased this for an adult but it is a bit smaller than I expected so I would suggest a larger bat for an adult. My grandson was having some issues making contact in his youth baseball when using a bat with a smaller barrel size. I was looking for something with a larger barrel and more generous “sweet spot” (as my son refers to it) to help him, and luckily came across this one. The barrel on this bat is fantastic, providing a very forgiving swing area and good solid contact. The bat is also very balanced, though a bit heavier than some bats he’s used previously. The grip is also very comfortable, and my grandson says the bat does a good job of dampening vibrations when making contact. Since moving to this bat he has improved his hitting significantly, not only in areas of making contact generally, but also in the speed at which the ball leaves the bat. So glad I found this and was able to help my grandson restore his hitting confidence! My boys are big into baseball. They dent bats annually, so no more cheap bats. The Alpha is as bats go excellent. Both boys swing it with ease. My 7yo can really whip this around and its grips enough my 8yo can throw his weight into it. Both are slamming balls with kids much older than them. The grip is a big step up. Its thick and grips to the point you dont need gloves. Just great. With bats the materials are a get what you pay for, with the $100 price point being the sweet spot. This is that sweet spot. We’re somewhat new to baseball and still learning. Last season our son started coach pitch and I got him this bat with a very narrow barrel. When he put the Easton in his hands he thought it was humongous and it helped build his confidence.* Light-Weight, Strong Quality: The aluminum alloy is super light-weight, yet tough as nails.* So I got the 27-inch, and the length is just long enough before turning heavy (for me). For professional players it will feel even lighter. Swinging it gives it a lot of confidence - the balance is spot on.* The mushy tape around the grip makes it very comfortable. This is one of the best handling bats I have owned.Easy thumbs up and recommendation. You get what you pay for, and in this $100 bat you get an excellent one.
